supplies:
1 pair of flip flops
yarn: I used worsted 4 ply 100% acrylic in white, black and purple
crochet hook G-6
large eye upholstery needle
make kitty faces the size of front of flip flop, it doesn't have to be larger because the knit helps keep shoe on
with the yarn and the needle, place and sew the faces right through the flip flops...make sure you tie good knots on the yarn side
take yarn and needle double threaded...using the 2 strands of yarn sew around the back of shoe..I used about .25 in spacing..does not have to be exact, do the same for toe area
starting from one of the holes that used to hold in the back of old straps, use for gauge, tie on your yarn, first row single crochet, next row double crochet.. all together i made 5 rows from hole to hole, on the end of the 5 rows i chained 45 for the shoe tie, single crochet back over the 45 chained stitches, single crochet stitched back over the heel to other side, chained 45 stitches then single crochet back over the 45 and slip stitched..end
for the flip flops holes you can fill them with E800 glue, house hold clear cocking or just leave them
make them in different patterns...you can even use cloth
